I had a dream where there was a smallville crossover episode with Legally Blonde. Where Elle Woods and Clark Kent teamed up to solve a murder.
The disapointment I felt when I woke up and realised it wasn't real was palpable. Because not only is that an incredible idea for a story. It would also be the best episode of Season 9.
I'm back!!! I've been practising using Love2d and I am loving how simple it is so far.
My plan is to recreate the google chrome dinosaur game. So far I made a red block moving every frame to the side, and giving each block its own colours!
Holy Moly! Knights of Guinevere is so good!!!!! Also sorry its been a while.
I was so worried that years upon years of waiting for an Owl House sucessor would ruin this show for me, but honestly it hasn't! The first episode was so good! I really don't want to spoil it so here's the link:
I've been messing around with LÖve2d. (Yes I switched Engines
So I decided to try another engine again. To LÖve2d. Its not actually an engine. Its a framework. So you basically have to code everything yourself. It should be annoying, but honestly its pretty fun. Like if I'm gonna learn code, I might as well go all the way with it.
Of course its not perfect. Exporting for linux (Yes I use Linux, I'm annoying like that), and especially for the web is a pain. But I'm having so much fun, I think figuring that out will be worth it.
I've been pretty busy with other stuff so I haven't made any new models so far. But I did work on transfering the Blockbench models to Blender. After trying this, my hypothesis was proven right... Blender is SO much better for rendering and animation than blockbench. So while I'll definitely keep using Blockbench for character models. the animations and images are going to be made in blender.
Func fact: This was supposed to realease yesterday, but Catbox was down... :/
I've begun experimenting with Elliots facial expressions. Her eyes and mouth are all on their unique plane, which I change the visibilty of in the editor.
I also made her with glasses and she's absolutely adorable! I honestly think the glasses give me more room for expressions, because the eyes are bigger so I have more space for the pupils.
The pupils here are smaller which works fine.
But this works so much better Since the glasses make the eyes larger, it creates a bigger contrast between the white and the pupils which really makes the whole expression more expressive (Do you get it?).
In the meantime of Catbox being down, I actually retextured the hair, I added some blue highlights to it which I think adds more depth to it.
I've updated the front page of my site. I added a gif from Textanim. to act as my front logo.
I have also been working on my Blockbench models!
I gave Elliot a different colour scheme, so instead of Red sand, its now Red Poster for the suit atleast. This palatte is sort of inspired by the aesthetics of the gameboy mixed with the USSR which first really well with my planned storyline for her world actually.
I've also begun working on my other OC Theodosius. But nothing with him is final yet. Also sorry for the inconsisten rotation angles, I couldn't find a more consistent way to line them up :/.
I've been experimenting with making 3D models in Blockbench. I know Blender but Blockbench is tailor made for low poly type models.
This is my OC Elliot, or at least the base of her anyways. Her colour palatte is the Red Sand palatte from 'Lospec.com' THe hardest part to design was probably the hair, my art skills aren't the greatest, so I had to do it from scratch.
Okay, guess who finally came up with a name for my secondary Beamwriter. Its empty so far though, but there should be some stuff here eventually.
Originally I made this site to host my writings and stories, but honestly I don't really think it fits this site anymore. I might make a more serious site to host my writing, and just use this site to host my other hobbies less serious hobbies, like my knitting, art, games and maybe music. I need to come up with a good name first.
I was rewatching kurzgesagt, and he mentioned something that really resonated with me.
He mentioned how life, just to exist mind you.
Constantly has to fight entropy, the force which brings
everything to death and disorder in the universe. That quote always
resonated with me. But I didn't why until now. But now I think I do.
Life doesn't just change, it
To be alive, is to rebel.
So I didn't do that... I was using this game engine called "Gdevelop", which like Construct 3, uses visual scripting. But I found it frustrating to work with, I just couldn't do what I wanted to.
This is why I decided to start learning Godot. Godot does have scripting yes, but I've become more confident in coding after starting this website. And wow, its a dream so far. I'm taking it slow so now I probably wont release anything until december (at the very least).
I've also been working on my blender skills. I'm trying to make art in the style of the original Donkey Kong country games. This is Lucy, a robot bird archeologist.
Its been a while huh? I've been preparing for the GMTK game jam (Making art and such). Once the jam is finished, I'll definitely post on here about how I made it and such.
I just watched Superman, and OMG it was so incredible! Like wowzers, James Gunn really GETS Superman. And the action scenes?!? Wowzers...
Pretty boring today. Just cleaned the bathroom.
I was bored so I decided to create a website. I learned about neocities so here I am!
